The Tall Pony Ranch is many things to many people.
To us and our herd of horses, dogs, cats and occassional organically home raised Angus...it's home.
To our "day job" corporate clients, it's a relaxing 75 acre campus where the frenzied business of Human Resource, Staffing and Executive Search is taught in a peaceful non-corporate environment. Our family business of training "headhunters" began in 1986 and has grown internationally since. Peter began his business career as an executive search consultant, (the business of recruiting above average talent for the world's strongest companies) never letting up on his sanity-balancing love of horses. It has grown to a full blown training firm.
When the raising of his boys became more of a priority than business travel, he hung a sign out saying , "if you want training, you'll need to come to my house".
They did. The ranch hosts business students about twice per month.
Part of their fun in the evenings involves horse drawn hay rides and trail rides on well broke gaited horses and mules. This is, where after training, our horses learn their trail skills and are desensitized to all the possibilities encountered on pretty rough trails.
Peter's father was an international hunter/jumper equestrian and passed his interest on to Peter who ended up taking the cowboy way instead of the flat saddle! Isaac, Peter's youngest of 3 sons, somehow slipped out of the rodeo world and discovered the joys of galloping for 2 solid hours on the back of a pretty game foxhunting sport horse! At 17, he his now tearing up the competitive world of hunter/jumper competition all over the country (while Dad's stuck muckin stalls and saddling quiet and safe trail horses!)
