Tall Pony Ranch - Retreats

When I drove into the ranch, I felt as if I had entered a secluded, little world without disturbing it. The horses stood quietly. They let me pet and curry them without seeming to notice that I was a stranger. The ranch kept moving quietly around me. And I was welcomed like an old friend to join into its slow and peaceful rhythm.

The ranch is almost like an isle of prosperity in a sea of recession. You leave the hustle bustle behind and enter a secluded time capsule. The earthy smells of a working ranch connect you to what is real. The short weekend fostered a bond that seemed more primitive than you would get in a hotel. That's because Peter is in his element on the ranch. A fascinating combination of gentile and macho, he has elegant manners, yet can shovel the stalls. There is safety with the structure he imposes because you reach your predetermined outcomes.

Our first morning on the ranch, we ramble on down to a bunk-house looking log cabin, past the fishin' pond and two barns and I think -- cool we're going to class just like they did on Little House on the Prairie. Inside the cabin, the fires are warm, the class is set up and we're ready to go & I recommend the ranch as a destination for an executive retreat in a heartbeat!
